All South African record companies and owners of recorded music are hereby cordially invited to submit Original Music and Video titles for inclusion in the 2010 South African Midem Sampler. All submissions will be judged by an independent panel of music experts for inclusion on the sampler.
Midem (www.midem.com ) is the world’s largest music industry marketplace / trade show, attracting over 10 000 participants from music companies around the world annually. The South African Pavilion, sponsored by the Department of Arts & Culture has become the base from which South African music is marketed at Midem, attracting thousands of potential business partners for South African music. The Midem Sampler is distributed to these visitors at the Stand.
The Sampler is intended to be a marketing tool for South African music and the local music industry. It aims to symbolize / serve as a platform for South Africa’s vast cultural heritage, and be as inclusive as possible. With this in mind, the Sampler aims to include music from companies not physically attending Midem, sourced from all corners of our vast industry.
The 2009 Midem Sampler is a Double CD, containing South African music.
We encourage all labels of all types, sizes and genres to submit their music. If you are an artist / band who owns your own recordings and are self-releasing, you are also welcome to submit your music.
